Comparison: Tradify
Estimark and Tradify, compared for UK trades
Tradify is job management software for small trade businesses, built around the daily loop of quote, schedule, complete, invoice, and sold per user into the UK, Australia, New Zealand and beyond. Estimark covers that same loop for a UK trade, and carries the commercial and statutory work a firm hits as it grows: CIS deducted on labour only, the section 55A reverse charge on the invoice, payment applications dated by the Construction Act, and the safety records that go with working on somebody else’s site.
What changes as a trade business grows
The first CIS invoice
The day a firm subcontracts to a main contractor, the invoice needs a labour-only deduction on a 6th-to-5th tax month. A tool with nowhere to put one turns that into a spreadsheet.
The first payment application
Commercial work is applied for rather than invoiced, on dates the Construction Act fixes. Missing a pay less deadline is a lost argument rather than a late email.
The first site that wants paperwork
A principal contractor asks for a RAMS, an induction record and a muster roll before anybody lifts a tool. Those have to be produced and signed, not promised.
What the second system costs
Most firms answer the three above by buying a second product and keeping a spreadsheet between them. Read both price pages and price the whole answer, not the first part of it.
Comparison: how it works
Who is Tradify built for?
Small trade businesses running domestic and light commercial work, sold per user across several English-speaking markets.
- Its positioning is the small trade business and the quote-to-invoice loop that runs it.
- That is a real market and Estimark sells into part of it too, at the sole trader and small firm end.
NoteEstimark describes its own product here. For the other product’s current price and what it covers, read that vendor’s own site.
Who is Estimark built for?
UK trades and SME contractors, from a sole trader to a firm running a commercial pipeline alongside its domestic work.
- Quote, schedule, cost, invoice and get paid, with the CIS deduction and the VAT treatment already correct on the document.
- Payment applications, pay less notices and retention tracked to release, for the work that is applied for rather than invoiced.
- Certificates with typed test results: EIC, EICR, Minor Works, PAT and CP12.
- A field app that works with no signal, because a plant room has none and a form that will not submit does not get filled in.
NoteEstimark holds no security certification: no ISO 27001, no SOC 2, no Cyber Essentials. If your procurement requires one, Estimark cannot meet it today.
What does Estimark do about UK statutory construction work?
It handles the four obligations a UK contractor is judged on: CIS deduction, the VAT domestic reverse charge, Construction Act payment timing, and the safety records that go with them.
- CIS deducted on labour only, excluding materials, VAT and plant hire, on 6th-to-5th tax months, with HMRC verification when connected and the CIS300 recorded with both statutory declarations.
- VAT domestic reverse charge under section 55A: the statutory wording on the invoice, nil VAT, controlled per client.
- Payment applications with Construction Act dates, the pay less deadline calculated, and retention tracked to release.
- RAMS with operative sign-off, inductions, permits and a live muster roll, plus EIC, EICR, Minor Works, PAT and CP12 certificates with typed test results.
NoteEstimark records the CIS300 and locks it to its tax period. It does not file the return to HMRC on your behalf.
When would Tradify be the better answer?
When the work is domestic, the firm is not subcontracting under CIS, and nobody is asking for a payment application or a RAMS pack.
- A one-van domestic firm that invoices direct has no deduction to make and no application to submit.
- Buying for the compliance work before the work exists is buying a problem you do not have yet.

Questions
Estimark vs Tradify: frequently asked
Is Estimark a Tradify alternative?
For a UK trade, yes. Both cover quoting, scheduling and invoicing. Estimark adds the UK statutory work a firm meets when it subcontracts: CIS deduction on labour only, the section 55A reverse charge, Construction Act payment applications and the site safety records that go with them.
Does Estimark handle CIS?
Yes. Labour-only deduction excluding materials, VAT and plant hire, on 6th-to-5th tax months, with HMRC verification when connected and the CIS300 recorded with both statutory declarations. What another product does about CIS is a question for that vendor and their own site is where it is answered accurately.
Can a one-person firm use Estimark?
Yes. Solo at £39 a month +VAT covers 2 users and 20 open jobs, with quoting, invoicing, CIS and the reverse charge from the phone.
Can I move from Tradify to Estimark?
Estimark imports clients, jobs and price book data by CSV. There is no direct migration from any other platform, and anybody telling you a move between two systems of record is a button press has not done one.
