• A RAMS is draft, issued, superseded or archived.
• Editing an issued RAMS is refused outright — you raise a new version instead.
• Issuing version 2 marks every other issued version in that lineage superseded, with the date it happened, and makes version 2 the job’s active RAMS.
• The full version history is retrievable, so you can show what was current on any given day.
• Raising a new version clones the content as a draft. It deliberately does not clone the sign-offs.

Yes. Three independent gates — site induction, an in-date CSCS card, and acceptance of the current RAMS version — each set to off, warn or block for that job.

• Block refuses the clock-on and names the check that failed. Warn lets them on and records the warning against the scan.
• The induction check passes on a job-specific or a company-wide induction that is still valid today.
• The CSCS check requires a worker record with an active, in-date CSCS qualification.
• If the job has no active RAMS, the RAMS check passes — nothing to sign is a pass, not a silent block.
• There is a dry-run check in the office UI, so you can test whether a named person would get on before they turn up.
