Certificates, jobs and invoicing for electricians
Estimark issues EIC, EICR, Minor Works, CP12, gas soundness and PAT certificates with test-result fields typed to the certificate you are actually raising, a customer signature captured on the device, and a PDF at the end of it — then quotes, schedules and invoices the remedial work that comes out of them.
What actually goes wrong
The certificate lives in one app and the job in another
The EICR goes out from a certification tool, the remedial quote from somewhere else, and nothing links them.
Test results typed into free text
A schedule of test results in a notes box is not a schedule of test results.
Nobody signed for the certificate
A PDF with a blank ink line is a PDF nobody can ever complete from the app.
C2s never turn into work
The observations get written up, the remedial quote never gets sent, and the revenue walks.
Sector — how it works
Which certificates can I issue?
Seven certificate types, each with the test-result sections that belong to it rather than one generic form.
| Certificate | Test-result sections |
|---|---|
| EIC — Electrical Installation Certificate | Extent, supply characteristics, circuits, observations |
| EICR — Condition Report | Extent, supply characteristics, circuits, observations |
| MEIWC — Minor Works | Minor works detail, supply characteristics, circuits |
| CP12 — Landlord Gas Safety | Gas checks, appliances |
| Gas soundness | Tightness test |
| PAT | Appliance list |
| Other | Free-form |
- Values are validated against the schema for that certificate type, so a reading that belongs on an EIC cannot be posted onto a PAT.
- Each certificate stores the certificate number, issue date, expiry date, property address, who issued it, and whether the result was satisfactory.
- The customer signs on the device — name, drawn signature and timestamp — and the signature can be cleared and retaken.
- The finished certificate renders as a branded PDF.
How do I get from a certificate to a paid invoice?
The remedial work follows the same route as any other job: quote, online signature, job, invoice, payment.
- The quote is built from line items priced against your price book, with VAT at your company rate.
- The customer accepts and signs it in their browser without an account, and accepting it creates the job.
- The invoice goes out as a branded PDF and is pushed to Xero, QuickBooks, FreshBooks or Sage Business Cloud.
- Payment status comes back from the accounting package once a day at 08:30.
Can I build my own test sheets?
Yes. The Custom Forms bolt-on is £49 a month and lets you build your own job forms and checklists with conditional logic, photos and signatures.
- Forms are versioned, so a submission made against version 1 still renders correctly after you change the form.
- Photos and drawn signatures are part of the form, not an attachment bolted on afterwards.
What about the van and the paperwork on site?
Field mode installs to the home screen and keeps working with no signal, and Van Stock tracks what is actually on the vehicle.
- The app shell is cached, so it loads and navigates with no connection at all.
- Anything you create offline is queued in the browser and replayed when the signal returns, photos included.
- Van Stock is £79 a month: stock across vans and stores, consumption booked to the job, transfers and reorder levels.
- Timesheets are £15 a month, and QR site attendance can create timesheet entries automatically on clock-out.
Which plan does an electrical firm need?
Solo at £29 a month if it is just you; Core at £99 a month up to three users; Pro at £249 a month up to fifteen and unlimited open jobs.
- Solo caps at fifteen open jobs at a time. Completed, invoiced and cancelled jobs stop counting.
- CIS Compliance and Health & Safety are Pro-tier modules at £19 a month each.
- If your clients are landlords, EICRs also drop into the Property Compliance register on a 60-month cycle — that bolt-on is £149 a month.

Questions
Electricians — frequently asked
Can Estimark produce an EICR?
Yes. Estimark issues EIC, EICR, Minor Works, CP12, gas soundness and PAT certificates. Each type has its own typed test-result sections — extent of the installation, supply characteristics, circuit details and observations for an EICR — and the values are validated against that type. The customer signs on the device and the certificate renders as a branded PDF.
Is Estimark a certification app or a job management app?
Both. Certificates sit against the job, so an EICR observation can become a quote, the quote is accepted and signed online by the customer, accepting it creates the remedial job, and the job is invoiced and pushed to your accounting package.
How much is Estimark for an electrician?
Solo is £29 a month for one user and fifteen open jobs. Core is £99 a month for up to three users with no job limit. Pro is £249 a month for up to fifteen users. Every plan has a 14-day free trial.
Does it work without a signal in a plant room?
Yes. Estimark installs to your home screen and its field mode caches the app shell, so it loads with no connection. Anything you create offline — including photos — is queued in the browser and replayed automatically when you get signal back.
