Where are UK public sector construction tenders published?
On four government portals. Find a Tender is the central platform for England, Wales and Northern Ireland and, since the Procurement Act 2023 came into force on 24 February 2025, carries every notice published under the Act, including the below-threshold ones that used to sit only on Contracts Finder. Contracts Finder still carries procurements begun under the old regulations and a long tail of buyers who have not moved. Scotland runs its own regime on Public Contracts Scotland, and Wales and Northern Ireland keep Sell2Wales and eTendersNI alongside the central platform.
- A notice is classified by CPV code. Construction is the 45000000 family: 45110000 is demolition, 45261000 is roofing, 45310000 is electrical, 45330000 is plumbing, and so on down to the trade.
- Every notice names the buyer, the estimated value where the buyer has stated one, the closing date for bids, and the delivery region as a NUTS code such as UKJ for the South East.
- The portals publish the same data as open JSON under the Open Government Licence. That is the feed this email is built from, read every morning.
What does the weekly public tenders email from Estimark contain?
The construction notices published in the last seven days that fit the trades and regions you chose, sent every Monday morning. Each one shows the buyer, the value, the closing date and a link to the notice on the portal that published it. Weeks with nothing that fits send nothing.
- Pick as many trades and regions as you work in. A notice with no region on it is offered to everyone, because a national framework is open to a firm anywhere. Scotland’s and Wales’s own below-threshold site notices are read from Public Contracts Scotland and Sell2Wales, which the central platform does not carry.
- Change your choices any time by filling in the form again with the same address; the next email uses the new ones.
- Every email carries an unsubscribe link that works with one click and deletes your address.
The email lists notices; it does not bid for you, and it cannot see notices a buyer has not published. Frameworks, dynamic purchasing systems and quick quotes sent only to an approved list do not appear on any portal.
How does Estimark match public tenders to a company?
Every Estimark customer is matched every morning against the same notices, on the trades, regions, value range, accreditations and CIS status on their company profile, and the owners and admins get a daily email of the ones that fit, with a link to each notice. The email has a one-click opt-out, and the company can switch the matching off in Settings.
- A company that has not filled in its trades and regions is matched on the region of its own postcode, so a builder in Kent still hears about the school roof in Kent.
- Each match is scored out of 100, and the reasons are shown: which trades overlapped, whether the value sits in the range the company usually works at, whether the region matched.
- Tender intelligence adds a pipeline for the ones worth pursuing, an analysis of each notice against the company profile, and drafted capability statements and method statements to start from.
Common questions
- Is the weekly public tenders email free?
- Yes. It reads public data and sends it to an address you confirmed. There is no account and nothing to buy; the form asks for an email address, your trades and your regions.
- Which regions can I choose?
- The twelve UK regions: London, the South East, the South West, the East of England, the West Midlands, the East Midlands, the North West, the North East, Yorkshire and the Humber, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. A notice with no region stated is offered to everyone.
- Why is a tender I saw on a council website not in the email?
- Because the council did not publish it on a portal, or published it under a code outside construction. Below-threshold work is often advertised only on the council’s own site or sent to an approved list, and nothing on any portal can see that. The email covers what Find a Tender, Contracts Finder, Public Contracts Scotland and Sell2Wales publish.
- Does Estimark share my email address with anyone?
- No. The address is held for the weekly email and nothing else, and it is deleted when you unsubscribe. If you also tick the separate box asking Estimark to get in touch, your name and contact details go to a person at Estimark for that one purpose, and that consent is separate from the email list.
