Sector: damp & timber specialists
Software for damp proofing and timber treatment specialists
A damp and timber firm sells three things: a survey, a treatment, and a guarantee somebody will rely on in twelve years. Estimark holds the survey as a form of your own with conditional questions, photographs and a signature; the treatment as a job with COSHH entries for the biocides and fungicides and the safety data sheet attached; and the guarantee as a warranty period against the job with its length in months and the date the certificate was issued. Where the client is a social landlord in England, the damp report they send you is on a statutory clock, and Estimark computes the dates that clock runs to. It does not produce a PCA-format report, and it does not decide whether a landlord complied.
What actually goes wrong
The survey is a Word document
The moisture readings, the photographs and the recommendation are in three places, and the version the customer signed is not the version on file.
The guarantee is a certificate in a filing cabinet
Twenty years. In year nine the house has changed hands and the new owner rings with a certificate number and nothing else to go on.
The COSHH is a folder in the van
The data sheet for the fungicide is the one from three formulations ago, and the assessment has never been reviewed.
The landlord’s clock was already running
The housing association reported the damp on a Tuesday. By the time the survey was booked the ten working days were half gone, and nobody had told you the date it started.
Sector: how it works
Can I build my own survey form?
Yes. Custom Forms are versioned forms of your own with conditional questions, photograph and signature fields, attached to a job, a repair, a property or standing alone.
- A question can be shown only when another answer needs it, so the timber section appears when the surveyor finds timber and not otherwise.
- Photographs and a signature are field types, so the survey the customer signs is the survey on file.
- A form is versioned, so a survey completed last year is still the form it was completed on.
- Custom Forms is £49 a month +VAT as a bolt-on.
NoteNo PCA-format survey report ships with the product, and there is no moisture-meter integration. The readings are typed into the form you design.
How is the guarantee recorded?
A warranty period is held per job with its start date, end date, length in months, terms and the date the certificate was issued, and a claim is logged against it with a severity and a status.
- A claim can come from the client portal or be raised internally, and runs open, acknowledged, in progress, resolved or rejected.
- The job behind the guarantee carries the survey, the photographs, the treatment and the invoice, so a claim in year nine has the record behind it.
- Warranty Management is included from Pro.
NoteThe guarantee is your document and your terms. Estimark records the period and the claims; it does not underwrite anything.
What about COSHH for the treatments?
A COSHH entry holds the substance, its CAS number, the hazard classification, a risk rating, the control measures, the PPE, a link to the safety data sheet and a review date.
- The entry sits in Health & Safety alongside versioned RAMS signed per operative, so the method statement for the injection and the assessment for the fluid are on the same job.
- Health & Safety is included from Solo.
What if the client is a social landlord?
Since 27 October 2025, damp and mould presenting a significant risk of harm in a social home in England is on a statutory clock: an investigation within 10 working days of the landlord becoming aware, a written summary to the tenant within 3 working days of it ending, and the safety work completed within 5 working days of it ending.
- An Awaab’s Law case in Estimark holds the date the landlord became aware, computes each deadline in working days against the England and Wales bank holidays, and records when a deadline passed.
- The Reactive Maintenance bolt-on runs the repair itself on a priority SLA measured from the report, with the damp and mould category carrying the statutory preset rather than a routine target.
- From 30 November 2026 the same clocks extend to excess cold and heat, falls, electrical and fire hazards, structural collapse and domestic hygiene.
NoteEstimark holds the record, not the verdict. Whether a landlord complied is a question for the county court on the implied covenant, and the England regime does not apply in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland.

Questions
Damp & timber specialists: frequently asked
Does Estimark produce a PCA damp survey report?
No. There is no PCA-format template. Custom Forms let you build your own survey with conditional questions, photographs and a signature, versioned so an old survey stays on the form it was completed on. The readings are typed in; there is no moisture-meter integration.
How does Estimark record a twenty-year damp proofing guarantee?
As a warranty period against the job, with its start and end dates, its length in months, your terms and the date the certificate was issued. Claims are logged against it from the client portal or internally, each with a severity and a status, and the survey, photographs and treatment sit on the same job.
What are the Awaab’s Law timescales for damp and mould?
For a social home in England since 27 October 2025: investigate within 10 working days of the landlord becoming aware, give the tenant a written summary within 3 working days of the investigation ending, and complete the safety work within 5 working days of it ending. An emergency hazard is 24 hours. Estimark computes the dates and records what happened; whether the landlord complied is for the court.
How much is Estimark for a damp and timber specialist?
Solo is £39 a month +VAT for 2 users and 20 open jobs. Core is £129 a month +VAT for up to 5 users with no job limit. Custom Forms is £49 a month +VAT as a bolt-on. Every plan has a 14-day free trial.
