Comparison: myhrtoolkit
Estimark and myhrtoolkit, compared for UK trades
myhrtoolkit is UK-built SME HR software charged as a flat monthly total per company, banded by how many people are on the system, on a rolling monthly contract with no minimum term. Estimark is UK construction management software, and its HR side holds employee records, contracts, Right to Work evidence, leave and absence, training and certification expiry, and toolbox talks with a signed attendance register. The rolling contract is the strongest commercial point myhrtoolkit has, and it reads very differently from a multi-year HR agreement.
What a contractor weighs here
How long you are tied in
myhrtoolkit is rolling monthly. Several HR suppliers sell on multi-year terms, so a renewal date decides when a move is possible at all.
Generic HR against site HR
Staff records, holiday and absence look the same in any sector. A CSCS card that lapsed and a toolbox talk with nobody signed against it do not.
Where the record lives
The person who booked the leave is the person on the job. When the two sit in different systems, somebody reconciles them by eye every week.
What the second system costs
Price HR against the job system it has to sit beside, rather than on its own.
Comparison: how it works
Who is myhrtoolkit built for?
UK small and medium businesses in any sector, buying core HR on a rolling monthly contract with no minimum term.
- It is general SME HR with no construction or trades positioning, and firms that have been burned by a multi-year HR contract often land there.
- Weekday office-hours support is included, and the subscription can be stopped month to month.

What does myhrtoolkit cost?
A flat monthly total per company, banded by the number of people on the system, exclusive of VAT, on a rolling monthly contract.
| People on the system | Per company, per month |
|---|---|
| 0 to 5 people | £22 a month |
| 6 to 10 people | £37.50 a month |
| 11 to 20 people | £74.50 a month |
- A ten-person firm pays the same as a six-person one, because the band is a company total rather than a rate per head.
- There is no minimum term, registered charities are offered 10% off, and a paid setup service is sold on top.
- Aggregator sites still publish an older and much lower table for these bands. Their own pricing page is the figure to use.

What does Estimark do for HR?
Employee records, contracts, Right to Work evidence, leave and absence, training and certification expiry, and toolbox talks with a signed attendance register, held against the same people who are booked on the jobs.
- Employee records with employment type, status, pay type, pay frequency, department and reporting line, so PAYE lads, self-employed lads and subcontractors stay separate.
- Contracts issued as a versioned document and signed on screen, capturing the signer’s name, signature, IP address, user agent and timestamp.
- Right to Work, passport, DBS and driving licence held per person with an expiry date on each, so a re-check can be diarised before the permission runs out.
- Leave policies with annual days, sick days and carry-over, per-person balances by year and leave type, and requests routed for approval with the reviewer and their notes on the record.
- Training and certification expiry with a warning 30 days out, covering CSCS cards, tickets and gas competence per category and fuel.
- Toolbox talks with an attendance register, signed by each operative who was there.
- Appraisals and disciplinary records, from verbal warning through to dismissal and grievance.
NoteHR Management is included from Pro up, and is £29 a month +VAT on its own below that.
What does Estimark not do here?
No employment law advice line, no tribunal indemnity insurance, no maintained HR document template library, no payroll filing and no recruitment.
- There is one contract template. There is no maintained library of policies, handbooks and letters kept current with UK employment law, and that is the gap a customer notices in week two.
- There is no advice line and no HR consultant to ring, and no tribunal or employment indemnity insurance. If you carry cover today, keep it.
- Payroll is exported, not filed. Estimark produces Sage 50, P32, CIS and HMRC RTI-layout files marked as estimates. It does not submit anything to HMRC and does not issue payslips.
- There is no recruitment or applicant tracking, and no shift-pattern rota. Resource scheduling puts people on jobs by date range, not on shifts.
- Estimark is not sold as HR on its own. HR Management is a module inside a construction platform, priced with it.
NoteEstimark holds no security certification: no ISO 27001, no SOC 2, no Cyber Essentials. It records the CIS300 and does not file it to HMRC, and it takes no card payment on a customer’s behalf.
What does Estimark do about UK statutory construction work?
It handles the four obligations a UK contractor is judged on: CIS deduction, the VAT domestic reverse charge, Construction Act payment timing, and the safety records that go with them.
- CIS deducted on labour only, excluding materials, VAT and plant hire, on 6th-to-5th tax months, with HMRC verification when connected and the CIS300 recorded with both statutory declarations.
- VAT domestic reverse charge under section 55A: the statutory wording on the invoice, nil VAT, controlled per client.
- Payment applications with Construction Act dates, the pay less deadline calculated, and retention tracked to release.
- RAMS with operative sign-off, inductions, permits and a live muster roll, plus EIC, EICR, Minor Works, PAT and CP12 certificates with typed test results.
NoteEstimark records the CIS300 and locks it to its tax period. It does not file the return to HMRC on your behalf.
When would myhrtoolkit be the better answer?
When HR is all you are buying, the job system is settled, and being able to stop next month is the point.
- A firm that wants to leave at a month’s notice should read their terms against any fixed-term HR contract on the table.
- A business with no site work has no toolbox talk, no CSCS expiry and no RAMS to sign.
- Estimark sells HR inside a construction platform. If the job side is already working, a standalone HR product is the smaller purchase and the smaller change.
