Estimark’s Photo Management module holds a per-job photo library with GPS latitude and longitude, capture time, caption, trade and location, organised into albums by project stage, with before-and-after comparison groups and a per-photo flag controlling whether the client can see it. It is included from the Solo plan (£29/month) up.
What the Photo Management module does
- Stores each photo against a job with the uploader, filename, MIME type and file size.
- Records latitude, longitude and the time the photo was taken.
- Tags a photo with a caption, a location and a trade.
- Groups photos into albums with a name, a project stage and a date.
- Marks a photo as "before" or "after" within a named comparison group, so a progress pair is explicit rather than adjacent.
- Controls client visibility per photo, so an internal photo is not exposed by publishing an album.
- Links a photo to a defect, a site diary entry or an RFI, so one upload serves several records.
Photo Management — how it works
Why does GPS tagging matter on a site photo?
Because a photo with coordinates and a capture time is evidence of where and when, and a photo without them is an assertion. That distinction decides disputes about whether a defect existed at handover, whether an area was clear before works started, and whether a variation was necessary.
How do before-and-after comparisons work?
A photo carries a before-or-after marker and a comparison group name. Two photos sharing a group name form a pair regardless of when they were uploaded, so the progress comparison survives the library growing to a thousand images.
Can I stop the client seeing certain photos?
Yes. Client visibility is a flag on the individual photo, not on the album. Publishing an album to the Client Portal therefore exposes only the photos you have marked visible.

Can photos be linked to a defect or a diary entry?
Yes. A photo link connects one photo to a defect, a site diary entry or an RFI, so a single upload can serve more than one record.
Can I take photos on site with no signal?
Estimark is an installable progressive web app with an offline field mode. Native iOS and Android apps are in development but not available yet.
